Construction "Look-Ahead"

The works are now back in full flow following the Easter Break. Crescent Road has been closed again to allow the lay-bys to be completed safely. The next phase of the works will see the tie-in with Main Road at the south end of Crescent Road. There will be no access from Oak Street to Crescent Road and a diversion route will be set up via Broad Street. Crescent Road will be open for deliveries and shoppers from Beech Street to Oak Street. To avoid excess congestion on Oak Street the north end of Crescent Road will remain closed. The new lighting columns are being erected and we are now waiting for these to be connected to the electric mains. The first rope light is ready and will follow on from the column erection. The new bollards, benches and bike stands have been delivered and we are now outstanding only one load of porphyry and seven loads of sandstone. The new road signs are not quite ready but the posts will start to be installed next week ready for the new faces when they arrive. On the A591 we are awaiting for the traffic signals to be powered up to allow them to be commissioned.

The construction team are carrying out the work to allow continuous access to the local businesses, and we would like to thank everyone for their kind words and gifts.

We would also like to apologise for any inconvenience caused.
