Best UK Holiday Destination 2008
The Lake District has won
a major tourism honour by being named the best holiday
destination in the UK at a national awards ceremony. The
coveted award, which every destination in the country
strives to win, was announced at the prestigious British
Travel Awards 2008 held in London in November. The
British Travel awards are the largest travel awards
programme in the UK and an easily recognisable benchmark
for excellence when it comes to finding out the best in
the business. Ian Stephens, Cumbria Tourism's Chief
Executive said: "This is the most significant award the
Lake District has won in recent years. The fact we have
been named by the public and featured at the UK's
leading travel awards is particularly impressive and an
important message to convey to visitors for 2009."
This accolade for the county is a perfect way of making our destination and your product stand out from the crowd. Should you wish to incorporate the award within your own marketing - on your website, in your brochures, as part of your leaflets etc - you can download the logo below. Even better is to use the British Travel Award in conjunction with the destination branding, also available to download from this Marketing section of this website.
This is an important
and prestigious award, so let's all make the most of it.
