Windermere Air Show
2013
There will be NO air show in 2013.
2011
The Windermere Air Festival was over the 2 days
of the 23 and 24 July on the Glebe. There were Hot Air Balloons or
the Auster TJ398, Kendal Model Aero Club will be performing some
dazzling displays with their aircraft.
In the Military Village will be the RAF, Navy,
Army, Police plus others will be on hand to chat about their careers and
recruitment. A RAF Display Hawk will be on show and a SA-8 Tank, not to
mention the Air Simulator, Military Vehicles, Craft Stalls, Bouncy
Castle, Falconry and the Charity Marquee. The Earl of Montagu's Regiment
of Foote who will be creating a real living history camp, taking part in
some amazing displays in the main arena and fingers crossed may re-enact
a battle or two! Flying displays will include the Battle of Britain
Memorial Flights; the Breitling Wing Walkers; the RAF Falcons; Red Hawk
Formation Team and the Red Arrows.
The Rotary Club of Windermere are the main
charity this year.

The Windermere Air
Show is organised by the Rotary Club of Windermere in conjunction with
the RAF. The event raises money of local Charities.
The event is held on the
Glebe, Bowness-on-Windermere over the last weekend of July. The
2008 Air Show was attended by a near record crowd.
The
2009 Air Show was on the 25th/26th July.
Following on from the
Air Show, Rotary commissioned Cumbria Tourism to conduct a Visitor
Survey and Economic Impact Analysis. This report is below together
with a letter from David Thomas, Airshow Coordinator and Treasurer.
